Hi again.

Sorry for posting a day late yet again, but it was too close together to post on Thursday when I had just posted on Tuesday. Next week my posts will be back on the correct dates.

So! My Christmas was wonderful. I hope yours was too, or if you don’t celebrate it, I hope you just had a great day! I woke up extremely early as usual, woke my family up, and we had coffee and opened gifts. I was so happy that this year I have somewhat of a steady income and was able to get each member of my family really nice gifts, as well as stuff the stockings. I was just in heaven watching them open them, smiling, and enjoying the real gifts I was able to get for them. Then we hung out for a bit, my boyfriend came over, and I got to spend time with him. Then him and I and my family all went to my grandparents for dinner and some family time. It was the best day. The gifts I recieved were wonderful as well; I got a pretty general supply of the type of things I wanted off my list. I of course didn’t get everything off my list, because that’s unreasonable, but what I did get were things here and there -similar if not exact replicas- from things on my list, which made me very happy. Most of what I asked for this year was just workout supplies and accessories as that’s my favorite thing to do and I want all the gear in the world to fuel that hobby! While I won’t go into detail about all of my gifts, I would like to share a couple things that I got. I am extremely grateful for everything I got and this is of course not to brag, just to share, as one would do with a girlfriend in real life.

From Kasey, I got a new NueMe flat iron, and this is honestly one of the most useful gifts I have ever recieved. Not only is it my first high end flat iron, it’s hot pink, it works very clearly, and it straightens my hair quicker than the salon does! I have been enjoying it very much.

From my boyfriend’s sister and dad, I got a new Nike duffle bag amongst other things. It is another one of the most useful gifts I’ve ever recieved. I love it so much and I use it almost every day! Another thing they got me was a 3-wick candle from Bath & Body Works scented “Buttercream Mint.” I am IN LOVE with this candle. I’ve had a few 3-wick candles from there but I always end up giving them away as I pick out too strong of scents and those candles fill up the room with their scent very fast, resulting in the candles I pick out just constantly giving me headaches. First of all, this candle is the most light and delicious scent I have ever smelled. Also, it does fill up my room as fast as the others, but since it’s somewhat of a light scent, it never bothers me! In fact I burn it several times each day and can’t get enough.

From my parents one thing I got is a pilates DVD set. Pilates is my favorite form of exercise, as I’ve mentioned, and I can never get enough. My favorite Pilates instructor does her videos on Youtube, and since my laptop is currently broken, I have to do her routines from just watching my small phone screen, and it can get very uncomfortable to try to watch it on there while moving around. The set they got me is 3 different DVDs with a wide variety of routines and moves with a new instructor who I already like. And did I mention they’re DVDs??? I can just pop them into the TV and it is so easy! No moving around my phone across my mat with me, straining my neck trying to watch as I do the moves!

My grandparents gave me some money and I very quickly put it to use yesterday! I went and picked up a new planner that I am in love with, and two books. I got 50 Things Your Life Doesn’t Need by Sam Davidson & Patience, The Art Of Peaceful Living by Allan Lokos. I have started the first book already and it is such a good read. It is about decluttering your life (Not materialistic things.. emotional and social things.) to find your passion and who you are. I am really into self improvement books and I believe one cannot own or read enough of these books!

Aside from Christmas, I have not re-done my nails since Christmas Eve yet, but plan to do them over again tomorrow evening so I will be sure to take photos of that. And as far as working out goes.. up until today I hadn’t been working out at all because of being sick. Today I still have a headache, cough, and stuffy mucus (sorry for TMI), but for some reason I knew that I was well enough for a workout. I tried out one of the DVDs from my parent’s gift and did a 20 minute total body Pilates routine. It wasn’t very intense, but it felt very good and has put me in a fantastic mood today. My body definitely needed at least a little something.

This weekend I have no plans except working on a secret project for my anniversary with my boyfriend, working, and relaxing. I will update you on Monday on how my tiny little life is going!

Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Christmas Eve 2013

Hi! Merry Christmas Eve or Happy Holidays.

I apologize for today’s post being a day late! I promised everyone Mondays and Thursdays, but sometimes there just isn’t any time in the day so it has to be postponed a bit.

My weekend was a blur, I don’t even remember much of what I did. For the first time in my life the week leading up to Christmas FLEW by and I am so surprised that it’s in less than a few hours now!

I did paint my nails a few times this week, but I forgot to take pictures when they were fresh and then I went to work where I use my hands a lot and we also use bleach, so they get chipped every time. I will try to develop the habit of taking a picture right after I’ve done them for my blog. Howeverrrr, I just painted my nails a little bit ago today and I did take pictures! I painted my toenails last night to match, but I didn’t want a picture of my feet on the internet…some weirdos are out there and just..yeah. So, I wanted to do a Christmas theme for my nails this year but when I went to pick my colors, I realized that I was trying too hard. Part of my personality is that I try way too hard with everything and it makes me come off annoying and like I’m trying too hard. For once I realized I just wanted to seem kinda perfect with some perfect Christmas nails and a nice outfit while I’m with my family tomorrow, but that’s not what would actually make me happy. So, I went with one of my favorite colors and just did something pretty that did make me happy! Who cares that my nails don’t look like Christmas! I used Lady Like by Essie & The Statement Piece by Loreal. Sorry for the weird photo locations of the nail polish bottles; I just had to find a random spot that the camera would pick up the best image of their true color.

Today has been a great Christmas Eve so far, except for the fact that I have developed a cold. I am grateful that it’s not strep throat, though. That’s what I thought it was when my throat first started hurting two nights ago. This morning my boyfriend came over for a couple of hours to hang out with me and my family. He brought along our hamster, Delilah, and we put her in her roll-around ball so my sister could play with her. Then I made 4 cookie sheets worth of cookies for family tomorrow. Now I’ve just gotten done painting my nails! After I wrap up this post I’m going to go clean, fold laundry, and wrap one more gift. Tomorrow will be such an amazing day with all of my family and my sweet Kasey. I am so excited to spend time with everyone together and for everyone to open all of the gifts I picked out for them.

Again, Merry Christmas, or if you don’t celebrate that holiday, just have a great day and holiday season in general.

Hi!

So this past weekend I painted my nails with a new nailpolish; Lots of Lux by Essie. It was one of my Christmas presents from Kasey. ‚ô° The photos I have don’t show all the different elements of shimmer that it really has, but here’s the link to it on Essie’s own page. http://www.essie.com/Effects/encrusted/lots-of-lux.aspx

I didn’t do that well of a paint job because I wasn’t in good lighting. Anyways, this is one of the most beautiful colors I’ve ever seen. I’m going to take it off soon though because it needs to be something I wear for occasions- it’s too busy of a color to me to be wearing all the time.

When I take this manicure off I’m going to use the other nail polish from Kasey! It’s a metallic and it’s gorgeous.

My workout plans for this week consist of trying to get back on my Blogilates plan again. I printed out the 4 week beginners plan the other week and got a good 4 days into it, but finals week came up and I had no time for anything but studying! ūüė¶ So I want to start again on day 5 and try to get that habit going again. I’m really liking pilates. I love working out in general, but I’ve found that pilates is the perfect balance of everything I love to do when working out! So this plan that I’m doing is very fun for me. It’s a 6 day a week plan with each day focused on a different body part.

As for just regular plans, I’m just working and hanging out with Kasey. On Friday I get paid so that’s exciting…I get to finish up my Christmas shopping! I’m also starting a goal of having my hair look perfect all day this entire week. I know I put my hair through too much but it’s just the biggest thing that makes me feel good and confident throughout the day. I don’t care what other people think, I care what I think; when my hair is perfect I feel put together and like I can have a clean and organized day. I have such a bad habit of putting my hair up whenever I’m at home or sleeping in through any time I have to do it and the rest of the day I just feel gross and lazy. So hopefully this helps!

Hope your week goes well and have a blessed day.

Christmas Photos, Haul, Personal Stuff

Hello!

If you have read my about page, you know that I have set days that I’m supposed to blog certain things.¬† Well, just a heads up, that blogging schedule will not happen until the January 1st, 2012.¬† Until then, I’m going to be a bit messy with my posts as there is quite a few things preventing me from being able to follow the schedule.¬† Keep that in mind!

I promised you all Christmas pictures, right?  Well, first let me tell you how Christmas went down.

  • Woke up, spilled half a tub of coffee all over the kitchen floor.¬† Have I mentioned I had an extremely clutzy gene on Christmas?
  • Opened presents under the tree.¬† It was Momo’s first Christmas, and she did really well with unwrapping her gifts.¬† I received my Canon PowerShoot SX130IS, a case and a memory card.¬† Because I had just barely opened it, I didn’t really know the settings or workings, so I didn’t get much pictures of Christmas morning.
  • I spent a while fiddling around with my camera and studying the settings and controls.
  • Got dressed, flat ironed my hair, did makeup (all that girly shtuff) and then packed for Nana’s.¬† (I sound like a ten year old when I talk about staying over at my grandmother’s.)
  • Went to Nana’s.
  • Spent time with family.
  • Ate a yummy Christmas feast.
  • Spent more time with family.
  • Opened more presents.¬† Received a Sephora gift card for $50 from my grandparents, an adorable ring from my aunt, the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from my other aunt and $25 in cash from my great-grandfather.
  • Ate some pie.
  • Hung out with family some more.
  • Went to bed.

That was my Christmas Day!¬† It was pretty fun.¬† It strangely didn’t feel as festive as Christmas usually does, though.

Anyways!¬† Here’s a few pictures I took on Christmas morning and then a little later before I headed off to Nana’s.¬† By the way, you can click any of the¬†photos¬†for a larger image and clearer quality.¬† Also, Espoir Photography is my photography company and you may not use any of my photos without consent.¬† You can find my company Facebook page here.

My Christmas Day outfit: (I apologize for the very dirty mirror.)  I wore just a long sleeved black shirt, a black scarf, a black belt, blue jeans and black Nike snow boots.  I have no idea where I got any of it.

All photos taken with a Canon SX130IS.

Then, I ended up going shopping at Sephora on the 26th (day after Christmas and Boxing Day for the UK, Australia and Canada if I am correct) with my aunt.¬† Here’s a little haul of what I got!

Bag that my gift card and samples came in.  I love their bags, so classy and small!

¬†First sample.¬† Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash.¬† I used it Christmas night.¬† I thought it was fabulous, it got my face really clean and refreshed.¬† The next morning I noticed that it had broke me out like crazy.¬† Never using the stuff again.¬† I’m disappointed because at first I thought this stuff was wonderful and I was prepared to buy the full product right away.

Second sample. Dior Homme perfume.  I am wearing it right now!  I love it so much!  At first, I sprayed it on, smelled it, and almost threw up.  It smelled like a mix of wonderful perfume, cucumbers and tomato acid.  If that even makes sense.  After it dried though, it was absolutely marvelous.  I love the smell a lot and might have to buy a whole bottle when my sample runs out!

This was the box my gift card came in!  On the left is the card.  On the right was an awesome compact mirror!  Most amazing gift card ever!  So fancy!

What did I buy at Sephora?…..this:

and this…

¬†and this…

The first item was a waterproof lip liner by Sephora¬†(I normally don’t like their brand, just a few brands they carry in the store, but I tested these two lip items and LOVED them!) It was in the shade Pleasant Plum.

This picture isn’t very good, but¬†the color of this lip liner is¬†almost exactly the color it looks like in this picture.¬† I would have swatched it, but I don’t like wasting lip liner at all.

The second item was a lipstick by Sephora.¬† I fell in complete, outrageous, lovely love with this lipstick when I tested it.¬† It’s so buildable and with a little bit of it can pass a really classy and everyday red-coral, but add some more and it turns into a very romantic and deep red.¬† It’s the perfect red, I swear.¬† It’s in the shade of Sephora Rouge.

This picture shows the exact shade of it in the tube.

Here’s Sephora Rouge’s swatch.¬† I could not get a good photo.¬† I’m going to have to definitely work on good quality swatch photos with this camera.¬† The color in this photo is almost perfect though, it’s just a bit more of a wine color than that.

The third item was Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals matte SPF 15 foundation.

I got it in shade Light.¬† I have been wanting this foundation for a very long time.¬† A few of my close friends use it religiously.¬† I love matte foundations, powder foundations, and of course, foundations that have lots of SPF.¬† So, this is the perfect foundation for me.¬† I¬†hope.¬† I’m going to try it tomorrow morning, along with the new lip liner and lip-stick I got.

So with that, I will probably be testing all of these products out thoroughly tomorrow!  If I do, I will of course take photos and do a follow-up review.

That is all for tonight!  This blog post took me an hour to write, upload & edit.  Phew!  Blogging is hard work.

Another update tomorrow, I hope!  See you later!

Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays!

This year I got a Canon SX130IS and a case for Christmas! Oh, and a memory card! I am so happy! I am so very, incredibly happy!¬† I can now do photoshoots and take more artistic photography without having to bum a camera off a friend anymore!¬† Plus, it’s so¬†nice, too!¬† No, it’s not a huge fancy one, but it is a Canon and it does have a lot of great settings!¬† I am so in love with it, I could go on forever.

I have taken a few artistic pictures so far, but they all still need editing and I don’t have too much time right now to do that.¬† So, for now, here’s just a few silly pictures I took of myself with it!

In about an hour, I should be heading over to my Nana’s for Christmas dinner.¬† I’m also going to stay over there until Tuesday.¬† It’s going to be fun!¬† So I’ll hopefully post a lot of pictures and an update of what else I get on Tuesday night or Wednesday.

I hope that everyone is having an awesome day!
