Hi I’m back. ūüôā

So this past week I’ve started my new semester and been working and hanging out with Kasey and just having a lot to do. I have done my nails a few times but I haven’t been taking pictures because most of the time it’s been just to slap a color on and not have bare nails. From today on I’ll go back to those habits.

Later today I am going to see Kasey and spend some time with him. He is going to be teaching me one of my favorite songs on guitar because eventually I’d like to be able to play and sing it all on my own.

For workouts I’ve been mixing it up a lot all the time lately. I’ve been doing running and zumba and pilates and good old fashioned pushups and crunches. I have been feeling the need to dance again, so I think I’m going to start incooperating that into my workouts.

I’ve also been reading a new book on patience, it’s really nice. I think when I’m finished with it I might do a little review on here of it!

Well, I’ve got some stuff to do so I’ll see you Monday and let you know how my weekend was! I hope you have such a blessed day!

Happy New Year!

Hi! I hope your NYE and NYD were wonderful. ūüôā

On Monday night when I blogged I said that I would be adding something else to my current Manicure for NYE. Here’s what I added. It didn’t turn out as well as I would’ve liked because A) I’ve never done an ombre manicure before and B) ombre is HARD with a chunky glitter…it can get messy and go where you don’t want it.

So anyways, my New Years Eve was really fun! I spent the day with Kasey, and we had so much fun! We went to a really cute restaraunt for lunch and shared a tiny bowl of pasta and then we got desserts, coffee, and iced tea. It was the sweetest date I’ve ever been on! Then we went to a friend’s house and all of our friends and us played board games. After that, we went to a pizzeria for dinner and then headed back to Kaseys house for the rest of the night. We watched Kick Ass 2 and then went to watch the countdown show for midnight. It was so fun and Kasey was officially my first NYE kiss…. ūüôā

On NYD, I spent the first half of the day relaxing and not doing much while Kasey was at work. Then we went over to one of his family friend’s house for a big hangout and DELICIOUS dinner. It was pretty fun! After that Kasey and I went home, watched some TV, he went for a run and I did pilates, and then I came home to just relax and have a long night’s sleep.

Today has been a great day as well. Today is my baby sister’s third birthday. I woke up kind of late but then I went straight to her room and spent a few hours with her, ate lunch with her and my mom, and then went for a run! I am not a runner. I never have been. I’ve always wanted to be a runner but it is literally the hardest thing for me and I can’t run even a straight mile. However I just have to practice and keep at it and I know that so this time I’m going to really try to push myself to be able to run normal distances and for some easy exercise. So after my run, I went to my room and deep cleaned everything. I normally keep things clean every day but I get bad at keeping things sanitized, which is more important in my opinion. I get lazy with sweeping and mopping and washing my bedding and such. So I did all that while listening to some music and now I’m here! I’ve really enjoyed today so far, and I’m following one of my NY’s resolutions really well today. It is to never waste a day. Although today is my baby sis’s birthday and there’s not much to do and I’m not wearing makeup or going anywhere, I still did some really productive things today. So that makes me feel good.

This weekend as usual I don’t have many plans. Tomorrow I am spending some time with Kasey and then we are all having Morgana’s birthday party. Saturday I’m working a 9 hour shift and Sunday I’m working an 8 hour shift. So I won’t have much time to do anything exciting. I will be doing my nails tomorrow and probably again on Sunday. I will be back after the weekend to tell you my plans for the week and how life is going!

Have a blessed day, see you Monday.

December 27 2013

Hi again.

Sorry for posting a day late yet again, but it was too close together to post on Thursday when I had just posted on Tuesday. Next week my posts will be back on the correct dates.

So! My Christmas was wonderful. I hope yours was too, or if you don’t celebrate it, I hope you just had a great day! I woke up extremely early as usual, woke my family up, and we had coffee and opened gifts. I was so happy that this year I have somewhat of a steady income and was able to get each member of my family really nice gifts, as well as stuff the stockings. I was just in heaven watching them open them, smiling, and enjoying the real gifts I was able to get for them. Then we hung out for a bit, my boyfriend came over, and I got to spend time with him. Then him and I and my family all went to my grandparents for dinner and some family time. It was the best day. The gifts I recieved were wonderful as well; I got a pretty general supply of the type of things I wanted off my list. I of course didn’t get everything off my list, because that’s unreasonable, but what I did get were things here and there -similar if not exact replicas- from things on my list, which made me very happy. Most of what I asked for this year was just workout supplies and accessories as that’s my favorite thing to do and I want all the gear in the world to fuel that hobby! While I won’t go into detail about all of my gifts, I would like to share a couple things that I got. I am extremely grateful for everything I got and this is of course not to brag, just to share, as one would do with a girlfriend in real life.

From Kasey, I got a new NueMe flat iron, and this is honestly one of the most useful gifts I have ever recieved. Not only is it my first high end flat iron, it’s hot pink, it works very clearly, and it straightens my hair quicker than the salon does! I have been enjoying it very much.

From my boyfriend’s sister and dad, I got a new Nike duffle bag amongst other things. It is another one of the most useful gifts I’ve ever recieved. I love it so much and I use it almost every day! Another thing they got me was a 3-wick candle from Bath & Body Works scented “Buttercream Mint.” I am IN LOVE with this candle. I’ve had a few 3-wick candles from there but I always end up giving them away as I pick out too strong of scents and those candles fill up the room with their scent very fast, resulting in the candles I pick out just constantly giving me headaches. First of all, this candle is the most light and delicious scent I have ever smelled. Also, it does fill up my room as fast as the others, but since it’s somewhat of a light scent, it never bothers me! In fact I burn it several times each day and can’t get enough.

From my parents one thing I got is a pilates DVD set. Pilates is my favorite form of exercise, as I’ve mentioned, and I can never get enough. My favorite Pilates instructor does her videos on Youtube, and since my laptop is currently broken, I have to do her routines from just watching my small phone screen, and it can get very uncomfortable to try to watch it on there while moving around. The set they got me is 3 different DVDs with a wide variety of routines and moves with a new instructor who I already like. And did I mention they’re DVDs??? I can just pop them into the TV and it is so easy! No moving around my phone across my mat with me, straining my neck trying to watch as I do the moves!

My grandparents gave me some money and I very quickly put it to use yesterday! I went and picked up a new planner that I am in love with, and two books. I got 50 Things Your Life Doesn’t Need by Sam Davidson & Patience, The Art Of Peaceful Living by Allan Lokos. I have started the first book already and it is such a good read. It is about decluttering your life (Not materialistic things.. emotional and social things.) to find your passion and who you are. I am really into self improvement books and I believe one cannot own or read enough of these books!

Aside from Christmas, I have not re-done my nails since Christmas Eve yet, but plan to do them over again tomorrow evening so I will be sure to take photos of that. And as far as working out goes.. up until today I hadn’t been working out at all because of being sick. Today I still have a headache, cough, and stuffy mucus (sorry for TMI), but for some reason I knew that I was well enough for a workout. I tried out one of the DVDs from my parent’s gift and did a 20 minute total body Pilates routine. It wasn’t very intense, but it felt very good and has put me in a fantastic mood today. My body definitely needed at least a little something.

This weekend I have no plans except working on a secret project for my anniversary with my boyfriend, working, and relaxing. I will update you on Monday on how my tiny little life is going!

Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Christmas Eve 2013

Hi! Merry Christmas Eve or Happy Holidays.

I apologize for today’s post being a day late! I promised everyone Mondays and Thursdays, but sometimes there just isn’t any time in the day so it has to be postponed a bit.

My weekend was a blur, I don’t even remember much of what I did. For the first time in my life the week leading up to Christmas FLEW by and I am so surprised that it’s in less than a few hours now!

I did paint my nails a few times this week, but I forgot to take pictures when they were fresh and then I went to work where I use my hands a lot and we also use bleach, so they get chipped every time. I will try to develop the habit of taking a picture right after I’ve done them for my blog. Howeverrrr, I just painted my nails a little bit ago today and I did take pictures! I painted my toenails last night to match, but I didn’t want a picture of my feet on the internet…some weirdos are out there and just..yeah. So, I wanted to do a Christmas theme for my nails this year but when I went to pick my colors, I realized that I was trying too hard. Part of my personality is that I try way too hard with everything and it makes me come off annoying and like I’m trying too hard. For once I realized I just wanted to seem kinda perfect with some perfect Christmas nails and a nice outfit while I’m with my family tomorrow, but that’s not what would actually make me happy. So, I went with one of my favorite colors and just did something pretty that did make me happy! Who cares that my nails don’t look like Christmas! I used Lady Like by Essie & The Statement Piece by Loreal. Sorry for the weird photo locations of the nail polish bottles; I just had to find a random spot that the camera would pick up the best image of their true color.

Today has been a great Christmas Eve so far, except for the fact that I have developed a cold. I am grateful that it’s not strep throat, though. That’s what I thought it was when my throat first started hurting two nights ago. This morning my boyfriend came over for a couple of hours to hang out with me and my family. He brought along our hamster, Delilah, and we put her in her roll-around ball so my sister could play with her. Then I made 4 cookie sheets worth of cookies for family tomorrow. Now I’ve just gotten done painting my nails! After I wrap up this post I’m going to go clean, fold laundry, and wrap one more gift. Tomorrow will be such an amazing day with all of my family and my sweet Kasey. I am so excited to spend time with everyone together and for everyone to open all of the gifts I picked out for them.

Again, Merry Christmas, or if you don’t celebrate that holiday, just have a great day and holiday season in general.

BLACKBERRY LIME CHEESECAKE POPSICLES. ‚ô•

Ingredients:

For the Blackberry Layer:

  • 12 oz fresh blackberries
  • 1 1 /2 tablespoon water
  • Sugar, to taste if berries aren‚Äôt sweet enough

For the Cheesecake Layer:

  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime zest, optional ‚Äď if desired
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

  • Add the blackberries and water to a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring periodically, for about 10 ‚Äď 15 minutes, or until they are easily broken with a wooden spoon. Taste and add sugar to sweeten if needed. Stir sugar in and cook until dissolved.
  • Pour the berry mixture into a powerful blender, such as a Blendtec, and puree until very smooth. I ran the ‚Äúwhole juice‚ÄĚ pre-programmed functioin on my blender. After blended, cover and refrigerate the blackberry puree until cool, at least 30 minutes.
  • While the blackberry mixture refrigerates, beat the cream cheese, milk, lime juice, zest (if using), vanilla, and sugar using a hand mixer or puree with a small food chopper until smooth. Set aside in the refrigerator until blackberry mixture has cooled.
  • To assemble popsicles, layer the blackberry puree and cream cheese mixture in popsicle molds. Place popsicle sticks in the center and freeze until solid.
  • If necessary, run hot water over the outside of the molds to assist in removing the pops before serving.

Notes:

A high powered blender will crush the seeds, but if you prefer a completely smooth fruit layer with no bits of seeds then strain the blackberry puree through a fine mesh strainer.

Layering Options: We experimented with a couple layering techniques. I preferred #1 with smaller amounts of each layered more frequently, while Eric preferred #3. 1. Cream Cheese, Blackberry, Cream Cheese, Blackberry 2. Blackberry, Cream Cheese, Blackberry 3. Combine the two mixtures and swirl together.

Third! Personal Update:

My GrandpaGreat¬†is in town this week and I haven’t seen him in four years, so lately I’ve been hanging out at my grandparent’s and spending time with them. It’s really nice to be with family so often, I sometimes forget that and I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity¬†to realize it again. Yesterday we actually went on a real, authentic train and it was pretty cool. I was honestly bored for a little while, but it was an incredible experience at the same time.

I’ve been working a lot lately, and I’m starting school in 25 days.

Other than that, I don’t have much to update about! I am enjoying life and family right now, and that’s all I have to say this Friday!

See you Monday for Personal Post.

Personal Post!

I am so mad! WordPress¬†is being ridiculous today.¬† I made a Personal Post on a haul and I did a good job on it, too. ūüė¶ Then it randomly deleted it half of the information in there and the closing paragraph as well even though I had saved drafts along the way of typing up the post and everything.¬† There was too much to repair on the post so I just deleted it.¬† They were all drugstore products and really nothing exciting, but I was still excited for this first haul.

Oh well.

I’m really sorry that I don’t have a great post for you this Monday because of WordPress’s screw up.

My plans for this week consist of a bit.¬† Tomorrow I have an orthodontist¬†appointment and then I have work until around midnight.¬† Wednesday I have some housechores¬†that need to be done and also a photoshoot¬†with my friend Kristin! It’s going to be something I’ve never done before and I’m really excited to show you whatever the results may be! Thursday I have work in the evening and Friday as well.¬† I think that Thursday I will come up with my summer bucketlist… I don’t really know what else to do.¬† Friday I might¬†do a photoshoot for a friend, but I’m not sure what her plans for that are yet so we’ll see. Saturday I am going swimming with my family and Sunday I think I will hang out with a friend. ūüôā

I hope that everyone has a good week and I will see you Wednesday for Favorite Song Of The Week! ‚ô•

Second! Recipe:

Recipe and photo from here.

Picture of 'Oreo' Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour,¬†plus more for dusting
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Filling:

  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Prepare the dough: Sift together the cocoa powder, flour and salt in a large bowl.

Using a mixer, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla, incorporating each ingredient before adding the next. Add the dry ingredients and mix just until incorporated, scraping the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula.

Divide the dough into 2 pieces; place one piece between 2 lightly floured sheets of parchment paper and roll into a 1/4-inch-thick rectangle. Repeat with the other piece of dough. Refrigerate both rectangles, covered with the parchment sheets, until firm, at least 1 hour or up to several days.

Using a 2-inch round cutter, cut the dough into 64 circles. (You can reroll the scraps once.) Place the cookies about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets and chill for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Bake the cookies until they are set and slightly darker around the edges, about 20 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling: Using a mixer, cream the butter and shortening until fluffy. Beat in the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla.

Flip half of the cookies upside down and top each with 1 level tablespoon of filling. Press the remaining cookies on top to make sandwiches.

Third! Personal Update:

I’m sorry again I haven’t been posting! I am trying! ūüôā I have a few things to cover! Hauls, work, Sims and music.

I am hoping to be doing a lot more hauls in the future.¬† Not too often, but maybe one or two a month.¬† I really want to fill up my nail collection.¬† I’ve been buying a couple and I’m getting quite addicted! I have also really been wanting a nail rack for my wall.¬† Like one from here. I have told myself I’m not allowed to get one until I get at least 25 polishes though. ūüôā Hopefully that will help me to get a better collection quicker and also have something substantial to put on a nail polish rack when I do purchase one. I’m also in need of some new makeup.¬† I love makeup and obsess over it, but don’t actually buy hardly anything for myself.¬† I bought a few lip products recently that I’m happy with, but I need more! Always more! I really need to repurchase my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and some liquid eyeliner very, very soon though.¬† I am desperately low on those two.¬† However the foundation will probably be for the start of next school year since I am thinking of not wearing any face makeup this summer.¬† I’ve already been doing that for a few weeks since my skin’s been nice to me, and it’s been working out lovely.¬† Anyhooooo! Hauls soon!

Work is great.¬† I officially work at Baskin-Robbins.¬† I love it!¬† I have amazing coworkers and though it is still work,¬†it’s relatively enjoyable work.¬† Scooping ice cream¬†and cleaning up ice cream from the entire store isn’t actually that hard when you’re laughing along with your coworkers and being surrounded by happy customers.¬† So I just had to say I am quite, quite, quite thankful for the job that I have.¬† I know it might get a bit less tolerable in the future when the newness of this job wears off, but I could be off so much worse.

Sims! Sims! Yay! Sims! I grew up playing Sims.¬† I used to have it on my regular Play Station when I was quite younger and it progressed from there into owning Sims 2 and all¬†of the stuff and expansion packs into now owning Sims 3 with 3 expansion packs and 2 stuff packs.¬† I need to get all of the newer expansion packs for Sims 3 still, but that’s not my current goal at all.¬† Anyways, I always get addicted to it all over again.¬† I stopped playing for a few months and recently I got back into it with the crave to do some interior design.¬† Besides it being the most awesome game ever, it actually is really incredible for those who dream of architecture and interior design.¬† If you use the cheat for money (ctrl+shft+c) (type in: motherlode) (Which gives $50,000 to the household funds and can be repeated endless times.¬† I usually go to about $300,000 before building an entire house and then if more is needed, I add it as I need it.) it is easy to build any house you can dream of, with the limit of furniture available depending on if you’ve purchased any from thesims3.com.

Anyways,¬†I have a new goal!¬† I saw some YouTube videos on the 100 baby challenge.¬† What it is is in the Sims 3, you have to give birth to 100 babies using the same Sim as a mother for them all, and raise them each to young adults at the least.¬† A lot of people actually create blogs for their specific Sim used in this challenge, but I thought I could just update my challenge in the Personal Update section of each of my Friday Posts.¬† Popular rules for this 100 baby challenge are typically followed, but not required.¬† I will have my own specific rules because I am quite nervous for it!¬† Then, after I complete it, maybe one day I’ll try doing it the popular way.¬† Each Friday I will post photos of any Sims that have turned into the age of a Young Adult. (Because each child that does that is counted as 1 out of 100.¬† You can’t count them as they are born because they might not survive.)¬† Right now, my mother is Annie Fall and the father is Evan Anderson.¬† They haven’t gotten married yet. ūüėõ¬† They will be married soon.¬† They just barely had twin boys named Calvin and Roland.¬† Anyways! I hope I can make it to 100! I will keep you posted! This will be a definite challenge.

Now, music. ūüôā I have been getting into so much music again.¬† I like literally every genre and don’t discriminate against any artists or genres.¬† Music is different to everyone, and I think since I’ve always believed that so deeply, it’s easy for me to appreciate every genre of music.¬† I prefer some artists over others, but I don’t actually hate any music.¬† None of it is unpleasing to my ears.¬† Lately I’ve been obsessed over Atmosphere and Selena Gomez.

Atmosphere is a hip hop group composed of a rapper named Slug and a DJ/Producer named Ant.¬† Their real names are not important. ūüėČ Anyways, I know quite a few people that base their entire lives around music discriminate against rap and hip hop because of the generalization that it’s all crap lyrics about sex and drugs.¬† That’s not true in Atmosphere.¬† Although some songs consist of such things, it’s not disgusting or displeasing.¬† Atmosphere is incredibly original with mind blowing¬†lyrics and an elaborate story in each song.¬† If you just like music for a background or things like that, I wouldn’t recommend¬†Atmosphere for your everyday listen.¬† I would still recommend¬†you give a few songs by them a listen, though.¬† The key to atmosphere and thoroughly enjoying it is to actually listen to the lyrics, it’s seriously like hearing a greatly emotional story with a fresh perspective.¬† Atmosphere makes me feel more than any other artist (with one or two exceptional¬†songs by others) and that’s why I love them.¬† I will show you two of my favorite songs by Atmosphere.¬† Although I also really recommend The Waitress, The Best Day, She’s Enough, Yesterday and every other song by Atmosphere. ūüėČ

Selena Gomez is probably a name you’ve heard a few times.¬† When the good Disney shows were on a couple of years ago, I used to watch them.¬† Don’t hate.¬† Disney shows used to be like diluted Soap Operas, which we all know are addicting.¬† Anyways, after I got over my Hannah Montana phase, I fell in love with Selena Gomez.¬† 3 or 4 years later, I’m still obsessed and I’m riding on adulthood.¬† I think she is a thoroughly good person.¬† She’s never been too much of a fame-addict (to put it appropriately), she just seems to enjoy it a healthy amount.¬† Obviously, someone as successful as her isn’t going to just be unappreciative about what she has and can do, she enjoys her success, but doesn’t take advantage of it either.¬† She’s also one of the most gorgeous people I’ve ever seen in the most unique way.¬† I love her music.¬† It’s pop, which also quite a few people dislike, but it can just cheer me up or make me sad.¬† When music makes you feel anything, that means it’s good.¬† That’s what music is meant to do.¬† I love her music videos as well.¬† I’ll show you three of my favorite songs by her explaining why they’re my favorite because there are specific reasons for each, not just loving the story line or lyrics.¬† It’s a combination of things.

I love this song and music video combined so, so much. It’s incredibly easy to relate to and also, she is just plain gorgeous in this one.¬† I know it’s quite girly and a little cheesy, but I just can’t help but watch this and drool over adoring Selena so much.¬† I love her look in this, and also she has such the grace of a dancer, you can tell in everything she does.

This song and music video combined make me cry.¬† I know there are a lot of songs similar to this one out there, but this one seems to have every single lyric down to a T.¬† It’s so incredibly special to me, because I have been through such insecure times and this song just has the ability to make me feel that something inside that says I’m beautiful, no matter what anyone says.¬† She is also very, very pretty in this one too.¬† She’s a great girl to look at, she herself just looks like a piece of art.¬† Which obviously with her personality, musical and theatrical talents, she is literally a definition of art.

This song doesn’t mean as much to me as the others, but I really like the unique looks in this music video too.¬† Plus the meaning of it does really cheer me up, putting me in that careless mood for a bit to just forget what hurts for a while.

Alright! Well! That was a long post! I hope you all enjoyed and I definitely feel better after purging all of my blogging ideas that have been stirring in my mind for the past few days.¬†¬† ūüôā See you Monday for Personal Post.
